A Breath Of Fresh Air: All You Need To Know About Mini Crispy Wave

Give Medium Indirect Light

Crispy Wave likes to get medium, indirect light.

If you place it in a shady area like an East or North-facing window, it will grow fast and healthy.

If you place your mini Crispy Wave in front of a South or West-facing window, make sure to provide shade.

This fern doesn't like to be exposed to light for extended periods: the leaves might become pale and get burn marks.

To help your plant maintain an even shape, rotate the pot occasionally for even light distribution.

Keep It Moist

Never let the soil of this plant to become dry to the touch.

You can water Crispy Wave from the top, but make sure there is good drainage at the bottom of the pot. Don't let the plant sit in standing water it can lead to pathogen problems.

During its active growing period (April-September), your mini Crispy Wave will require water more often. In the winter, you can reduce the frequency of watering.

Feed Once A Month

Mini Crispy Wave is a slow-growing plant and doesn't require much fertilization.

Feed the plant from April to September only, while the plant is growing. Once a month, use a 24-8-16 formula diluted to half the recommended strength. Use liquid fertilizer only!

There is no need to feed Crispy Wave during the winter while the plant is resting.

Don't overfeed – it could burn the roots.

Place Away From Drafts

Crispy Wave likes temperatures between 70 and 90 ⁰F (21-32 ⁰C) during the day and about 10 degrees cooler at night.

Leaves can become damaged by hot or cold drafts, and the base of the leaves will begin to turn yellow when the temperature is too warm.

Provide Enough Humidity

A moderately humid area is ideal for this fern.

You can use a humidifier, or place the plant in a tray filled with pebbles and add water just below the tops of the rocks.

Avoid misting the leaves – it might encourage bacterial and fungal infections.

Repot Only When Needed

Your mini Crispy Wave will enjoy any all-purpose or tropical soil mixture with good drainage.

Miniature plants grow slower than regular plants – repot your Crispy Wave only when its roots have completely filled the existing container. When repotting, always choose a pot that has drip holes at the bottom.

Remember that Crispy Wave's roots are brown, and not white!

Pay Attention To Diseases And Bugs

Crispy Wave is vulnerable to pests such as Mealybugs, scale, and Aphids. To treat the plant, you can use a Q-tip dipped in alcohol.

Make sure not to overwater: it can lead to root rotting and other fungal problems.
